A New Step from Fujifilm in Cardiac Care
Fujifilm Middle East Expands Its Presence in Interventional Cardiology by Launching a New Technology Platform in the Middle East and Africa
Fujifilm Middle East unveiled an integrated package of interventional cardiology solutions targeting the Middle East and Africa markets, ahead of its anticipated participation in the World Health Exhibition 2026 "WHX Dubai", which is held at the Dubai World Trade Centre in Expo City Dubai between February 9 and 12. The announcement comes as part of the company's preparations for the official unveiling of these technologies on the first day of the exhibition inside its pavilion in the North Complex.
A Strategic Partnership to Expand Access to Cardiac Technologies
The company explained that it is launching this package in collaboration with Infolution Healthcare, a company specializing in solutions for diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases. The partnership aims to facilitate hospitals' and healthcare centers' access to modern technologies in the field of cardiac interventions, with a focus on improving the quality of medical services in the region.
An Integrated System of Devices and Technologies
The package includes a wide range of solutions, comprising cardiac catheterization systems, vascular imaging technologies, optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging systems, in addition to balloon catheters, drug-eluting stents, and a range of supporting interventional tools. These devices are also linked to specialized medical information technology solutions from Fujifilm, alongside cardiac computed tomography (CT) devices and ultrasound imaging systems, creating an integrated diagnostic and treatment environment for cardiac patients.
Artificial Intelligence to Improve Procedural Accuracy
The vascular imaging systems presented include an integrated interventional imaging platform designed to simplify workflow inside catheterization rooms. These systems provide high imaging quality and flexible operating angles, with the integration of AI technologies that help improve stent image clarity and plan their positioning with greater precision. These capabilities aim to support physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for cardiac, peripheral vascular, and cerebrovascular diseases.
Intravascular Imaging at Microscopic Precision
The package also includes high-resolution OCT systems, which allow detailed imaging of the internal structure of blood vessels. This technology is used to help physicians accurately assess the nature of vascular stenoses, contributing to improved treatment decisions and higher success rates of medical interventions.
Advanced Drug-Eluting Stent Design
Among the key components of the package are stents loaded with the drug everolimus, characterized by low thickness and a flexible engineering design that balances ease of insertion and durability. This design helps improve blood flow in arterial bifurcation areas and provides better access to side branches, with greater compatibility with vessels at acute angles.
Health Challenges Requiring Advanced Solutions
Company officials noted that cardiovascular diseases remain among the leading causes of death in the region. Statistics point to more than 1.4 million annual deaths in the Middle East and North Africa, in addition to more than one million annual deaths in Africa. Both companies believe that these figures reflect the urgent need for more advanced and accessible diagnostic and treatment technologies.
Fujifilm confirmed that its strategy is centered on medical innovation and expanding access to advanced healthcare, while Infolution emphasized that the joint collaboration targets raising cardiac treatment standards and improving patient outcomes through providing the latest imaging technologies and interventional solutions.
Fujifilm Middle East is part of the global group that possesses more than ninety years of experience in multiple fields including healthcare, imaging, and digital technologies, while Infolution is known as one of the companies specializing in manufacturing and developing interventional cardiology solutions in Asia.
